Marine Corps Marathon, deemed the “People’s Marathon,” has been one of the Allied Forces Foundation’s largest events. Allied Forces Foundation offers the opportunity for wounded, ill or injured Veterans from the U.S. and UK to participate in the Marathon as part of Team AFF.

These Veterans have served in the same conflicts, and now they run to raise awareness for Allied Forces Foundation. Accomplishing the 26.2-mile race empowers Team AFF participants and unites them in their healing journey.

The objective of the AFF MCM event is to bring together wounded warrior teams from the allied nations to take part in the marathon, meet fellow WII and visit the US capital city. Participants compete in the endurance event in order to renew self-confidence, re-establish self-esteem, and provide a focus for recovery and rehabilitation.

The Allied Forces Foundation has had a team participate in the Marine Corps Marathon for ten years. AFF participation has grown and the team has expanded to include wounded, ill, and injured from Australia, Bulgriana, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Georgia, Italy, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, and Ukraine.
